I’ve also developed and facilitated support groups for animal shelter and veterinary hospital staff, as well as co-founded and co-facilitated a support group for North Carolina State University Veterinary Hospital clients. My professional journey has also included traveling nationally to co-facilitate workshops on compassion fatigue for animal shelter staff and animal control officers. My published articles have been featured in various magazines, most recently in the Raleigh, North Carolina “Natural Awakenings” magazine, and I was featured on “The Signal,” a Baltimore NPR program as an expert on pet loss. Buried Deep in Our Hearts is my first novel and is an homage to all the animals who have inspired me.
